An inside stateroom is an inside stateroom, right? Why so many different categories within a category such as that of "Inside"? So many options. So many choices. It can get confusing.
The staterooms are all about the same size within the main category (inside, oceanview, and balcony). They may be configured differently as to layout of the beds and other furniture, number of beds, and what side of the room the bathroom is located; but, in all the amount of square footage will be the same. Why so many price options?
As as in real estate....location, location, location. The most favored staterooms are going to cost the most, and may be one of the first to sell out.
Here are some cruise tips to help make a wise decision:
1) The most favored staterooms are generally those located midship (front to back), and on the highest decks (closest to the pool).
The lowest priced staterooms are going to be on one of the lowest decks that that category has occupancy to non-crew members. These staterooms will also be located towards the front or back of the ship.
IE: Where are the more expensive suite staterooms located? On the higher decks of course. Why are so many high end suites at the back of the ship? The view!
2) Being towards the front or back of the ship is not the most ideal for all people. The front and the back of the ship are where the motion of the ocean will be most felt.
3) Especially on older ships. The back of the ship may be most noisy, and may vibrate more because of the location of the engines. Nothing like being woken up early in the morning to your room shaking as your ship prepares to arrive at your port of call.
4) Please contact and consult a professional travel agent whos area of expertise is in cruises such as Cruise Planners - Cruise Pros Plus. They will take away the confusion and relieve the frustration, who understands the terms and conditions of those fascinating lead in prices, and who will lead you to a memorable and hassle-free vacation.
5) Trust in a travel agent. Not a computer. Someone you can call day or night in the event of an emergency. Who will be standing by to be of assistance with your situation. Watching your back.
