Are You Going To Need a Covid-19 Vaccine in Order to Cruise?
Three cruises lines have stepped up and said that they will require all their crew and passengers to have had COVID-19 vaccines in order to travel. The three cruises lines are Crystal Cruises, American Queen Steamboat, and Victory Cruises.
FAQs
Are they setting the stage for all cruises?
It is possible, but at this point many of the cruise lines are anxiously awaiting to receive guidelines from the CDC (Center for Disease Control), to begin to implement and enforce all that will be required of them before making any formal announcements to this regard.
What are we professionals being told?
We are being informed that protocols will be implemented that will help secure the health and safety of everyone on board the ship.
- Crew members will wear masks at all times.
- Passengers will be required to where masks and maintain social distancing in public areas such as the lobby, theater, lounges and corridors, going to and from your table the restaurants, and to/from your pool lounge, and other areas where social distancing may be difficult to enforce or maintain.
- Covid-19 tests will be performed prior to initial boarding of ship, along with frequent temperature taking throughout the duration of the cruise.
- Enhanced circulation of fresh air will be pumped into interior spaces of the ship on a regular basis to maintain healthy air standards.
- Enhanced and frequent cleaning and disinfecting of the ships surfaces, and rooms will also be implemented.
More to come as reports become more conclusive.
Should I book now? I'm nervous, but would like to cruise in 2022 or 2023.
Yes, to avoid possible disappointment and significant price hikes, it is definitely time to book! The cruise lines are offering "Cruise with Confidence" policies that will enable you to make cancel and or make changes up to a certain date. Each cruise line will have its own version.
Demand has increased for cruise travel in 2022. It is rumored, and I have seen it to be true on some sailings, that all 2022 sailings will be sold out by Fall of 2021.
Are prices up?
In some cases, yes. They will continue to go up as demand increases and inventory decreases.
Are there some good deals out there?
There are some amazing value packed deals out there that have many items included in the cruise fare that you did not see before. Items such as drink packages, WIFI, specialty dining, gratuities, and reduced air.
We at Cruise Planners have some exclusive offers as well. Check out my website often and subscribe to obtain our Weekly Deals.
We also can have packages that include items such as a pre-cruise hotel, transfers, and more at or less than the prices you pay when booking direct with the cruise line. These prices will be very difficult to beat.
