Carnival announces additional pause of service of specific ships
Published Wednesday, September 16th 2020 - Updated Wednesday, September 16th 2020Despite optimism of resuming sailing in November, Carnival has elected to add to the existing list of suspended or paused sailings three ships.
The Carnival Magic, Carnival Valor and Carnival Paradise are affected by this recent announcement in addition to those already announced earlier. The sailings of these ships are suspended through to March or April 2021. No other ships scheduled to sail in November are affected at this time unless suspended earlier.
The reason for the pause extension is not directly required by the CDC, but due to lack of dry dock space. These ships are scheduled to undergo refurbishment. Carnival does not want to release these ships into service until these ships have undergone the refurbishment.
Passengers affected by this pause of service have two options.
1) 100% Future Cruise Credit, plus up to $600 in shipboard credit depending on the duration of the cruise originally booked towards their next booking/sailing. All taxes, fees, shore excursions, and other options booked through Carnival will be refunded.
2) Full Refund. A form must be completed by March 2021, or the funds will default to a Future Cruise Credit.
