As people try to save as much money as they can by bringing on board their own beverages instead of purchasing a beverage package or by the drink, Carnival is implementing new policies which they state are for security reasons. People smuggling alcoholic beverages and potentially dangerous substances in bottles has become a grave concern.
Up until now, Carnival would allow people to bring on their own water, soda pop, juices, and other non-alcholic beverages on board in any kind of container without hesitation. Now they are changing things up a little. They will allow you to bring your own non-alcholic beverages on board provided that they are in cans or cartons.
Bottled water is now banned. To offset the need for bottled water, Carnival said that they'd reduce the price to $2.99 per bottle (same price as in a grocery store), provided the bottles are ordered in advance of the cruise. The ordered water will be delivered directly to your stateroom/cabin.
Passengers will be allowed a case of 12 cans or cartons of soda pop, juices, and other non-alcholic beverages provided that they are not in bottles.
The carry-on wine policies and corkage fee remains the same.
