It was announced this morning by Carnival Cruises that they have voluntarily suspended all cruises departing from the U.S. , with the exception of those departing from Miami and Fort Lauderdale, FL.   The sailings out of these two cities in Florida remain uncertain.

Carnival made this decision after the CDC had announced that they will extend their No Sail Order until October 31, 2020.

Earlier this week, Carnival along with other cruise lines, submitted to the CDC their plans on what efforts and protocols would be implemented to keep passengers and crew safe and healthy during their voyage.

It was Carnival's decision to take baby steps towards opening up their sailings and cruises to a fuller scale.

It will be interesting to see if other cruise lines follow.  They generally do.

If you have reservations with Carnival and have been affected, you have two options.

1)  100% Future Cruise Credit + Shipboard Credit.  $600 for sailings 7 nights or longer.  $300 for sailings 6 nights or under.  These can be applied to cruises that are booked by May 31, 2020, and for sailings scheduled to depart by April 30, 2023.

2)  Full refund.  A form must be completed in order to receive the funds.  Otherwise, all will default to a Future Cruise Credit.
