Carnival Cruises Announces New Cruise Port

Announced today, Carnival will be adding a new port to their itineraries. This port is called Amber Cove, and is located by the city of Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.
Visits to the new port will begin in October 2015. The first ship to sail there will be the Carnival Victory with a scheduled visit date of October 6, 2015.
Carnival Cruises describes Amber Cove as being:
"Designed to serve as the gateway to the world's most beautiful cruising regions. Amber Cove features dramatic architectural elements that echo the area's storied Colonial past. The port is situated in a picturesque cove that serves as a backdrop for soaring mountains and lush tropical landscape. Its cobblestone plazas will be lined with a variety of retail offerings, including themed restaurants and bars and a marketplace with locally sourced crafts and souvenirs, recreational activities, and a transportation center for access to land and sea adventures."*
Amber Cove is the first of many other new destination ports that will become available through Carnival Cruises.
