Carnival Corporation is introducing "fathom" cruise line which will cater to volunteer travel. If you are a person who love to help people in need, this line and itinerary may be of interest to you.
Beginning with voyages to the Dominican Republic, in April of 2016, you can sail a 7-night voyage round trip Miami, onboard the Adonia - a ship that occupies up to 710 passengers that is being redeployed from the fleet of another cruise line within the Carnival Corporation Brand.
Your experience will include onboard “readiness experiences,” such as an orientation to the Dominican Republic, conversational Spanish lessons, activity training, workshops, personal enrichment and more. While on the island you will have three on-shore social impact activities in the Puerto Plata area. You can choose which causes you will want to work on. With opportunities that include helping cultivate cacao plants and helping a women’s cooperative produce artisan chocolates; teaching English in schools or to adults; or helping build water filters using clay.
Fares begin at $1540 per person for an outside cabin.
