Coki Beach, St. Thomas, as a beach destination.
Published Thursday, September 30th 2010Coki Beach is one of many options on St. Thomas, located in the Caribbean. Coki is a very good spot for swimming, snorkeling and scuba. It is probably the 2nd favorite beach on the island. It is not supported or maintained by a hotel as do Sapphire and Emerald beaches on the island.
It is in a cove, located next to Coral World. A taxi ride away, you will be greeted by one of the beaches hosts and shown to the beach. You will be given the option to rent a lounge, beach umbrella, or a raft. They also offer snorkel equipment that you can purchase or rent.
It offers amenities such as a bath house, changing rooms, restrooms, restaurant and bar. Don't worry, you won't have to get off that spot on the sand. Their are waiters/waitresses who will be glad to get you one of their special concoctions. Sometimes they even tempt you with free samples.
Due to its location, the water is most calm. Unlike some other areas the water's depth does not drop off too quickly. Making it a good place for swimming and snorkeling. This is a location that many of the cruise lines escorted snorkel packages bring you.
This beach does rank among many people's favorites.
