As a professional travel agent, Linda of Cruise Planners-Cruise Pros Plus had the opportunity to experience the offerings of the Celebrity Solstice as a Five Star Celebrity Specialist graduate and passenger.

Celebrity Cruises prides itself for its quality and emphasis on service and World Class Cuisine.  The Celebrity Solstice does not disappoint. It enables you to customize your own cruise experience.

Upon arrival you are greeted with waiters offering champagne, mimosas, or orange juice.  Upstairs on the Lido Deck they are offering their guests lunch at the buffet bar.  A vast selection of food to choose from from around the world.  Included are selections from Mexico, Italy, Asia, Britain, and India.  Homemade ice cream is made on board.  Linda's favorite - the mango sorbet and ice cream. 

The staterooms are spacious.  Lots of drawers and closet space for your clothes.  The beds allow storage of large suitcases underneath without any problems.  Balconies are a little larger than average.

The bathroom has a shower, and is bright a cheerful.  Here too, one will find drawers and cabinets to store your toiletries and such.  The shower is roomy and sports glass sliding doors instead of a curtain.  There are bars that aid women in shaving their legs installed in the shower stall - one to rest your foot and hoist your leg, and a pole to hold on to.

The decor throughout the ship gives a calming, relaxing and airy feeling throughout.  Lots of space and options to sit and relax.  Areas designed for a couple to have space to themselves, a small group, and even for larger groups.

The swimming pools are large in size.   In the main pool area there are two pools.  One pool is shallow - best for children.  The other is deeper, approximately 5 + feet deep - better for adults.  For adults who want things to be a little cooler and quieter, the Solarium is an adults only area with a large pool and lots of loungers, cabanas, and other cosy large seats and sofas.  The Solarium is enclosed with a glass roof that helps filter the sun's rays.  The enclosed area is also air conditioned.

The meals are excellent.  So many choices including special award winning dishes by the head chef.  Everything that can be made from scratch is.  Thus making the breads and rolls very hard to resist.

Specialty restaurants are also available at an extra charge.  Want to experience Asian food, but didn't know what you want or what you might like to eat?  The staff is very pleased to assist and guide you in your selection.  A variety of sushi, Chinese and Thai dishes are awaiting you to experiment.  You will be pleasantly surprised.

There is even a dining venue for those who are health conscious and want to watch their waistlines.  The Aqua Spa Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch.  Offering low calorie and healthy food that is absolutely delicious.

Entertainment is upbeat and well done.  Live entertainment is available by the main pool during the day.  Other venues offer pianists, acapella singers, a string ensemble, and of course there is always the disco in the evening.  The choices are plenty and each evening there is a variety to select from.

We must not forget the Lawn Club.  A lawn with real grass on the top deck of the ship.  A great place to play bocce ball, crochet, bean bag toss or to have a picnic.  Also on this deck is Celebrity's exclusive entertainment venue:  "Glass Works".  Brought to us from Corning, New York, artists demonstrate their creative skills in molding hot glass into beautiful pieces of art.

The spa and fitness center offer and feature up-to-date equipment and services.  They even offer a five minute samplier during one day of the cruise in which you can sample two spa treatments for free.  Among the choices were a neck and shoulder massage, foot and ankle massage, teeth whitening, hot rock massage and facial massage.
