This week we at Cruise Planners - Linda Kolanko & Associate met with a representative of Emerald Waterways in Dallas, Texas. Little is known about Emerald Waterways as it is new to the North American travel market. Emerald Waterways has only been made available to the North American market for about a year.
Emerald Waterways is owned by Scenic Tours of Australia.
It is an English speaking cruise line. No concern for translators or lengthy announcements in other languages.
Emerald Waterways classifies itself as an "Exceptional Value", 4-Star, contemporary river cruise line. Offering great value at very competitive prices compared to it competitors. It offers 8- to 17-night cruise voyages down some of the most popular rivers of Europe which include the Danube and Rhine rivers. They are also sailing the Mekong River In comparison to ocean cruises, there will be no motion sickness because there will be no waves. Just people waving as your ship passes them at their home town or village.
As what is characteristic of all river ships, they are sleek and long. Occupying under 200 passengers. They currently own and operate 5 ships and are growing.
Staterooms are spacious. Most staterooms will have a view from the "Swan" view to the Panoramic Balcony Suite. Some staterooms have full view windows where the upper half slide up and down to let in the fresh air and improve the clarity of spectacular views you will be experiencing.
This line does offer a single occupancy stateroom for the solo traveler.
What is included:
-Transfers to/from the ship to the airport. Even when airfare is not purchased as part of the cruise line package
-All gratuities - including those for tour guides, bus drivers, etc.
-WIFI
-Shore Excursions - which include city tours. Authentic excursions which may entitle you to eat with the locals. Premium excursions are available at an additional charge.
-Heated pool with retractable roof. This space becomes a cinema in the evening.
-Onboard dining which includes buffets for breakfast and lunch, a delightful traditional dinner, and snacks.
