Cruises cancelled or suspended
Published Friday, March 13th 2020 - Updated Friday, March 13th 2020It was, or is gradually being announced that the various cruise lines that service North America are cancelling or suspending their sailings for a period of at least 30 days due to the coronavirus also known as CO VID 19.
First it began with Viking cruises cancelling cruises through to June, followed by Princess suspending all sailings for 60 days.
Now the Royal Caribbean family of brands (Royal, Celebrity, Azamara and Silversea), as well as the Norwegian family of brands (NCL, Regent, and Oceania), Disney, Carnival and more are suspending all their sailings for a 30 day period.
For sailings beyond April, most cruise lines are offering a Sail with Confidence option. This will enable persons that are booked the ability to cancel, in most cases, 48 hours prior to the scheduled date of the cruises departure without penalty. Should booked passengers take the option, the funds will be retained in the form of a Future Cruise Certificate and can be applied to a future sailing. Most up to two years from date of cancellation.
