Disney Cruises Modifies Alcohol Policy

Disney Cruise Line recently announced the implementation of a new policy in regards to the type and quantity of alcohol that can be carried on board all of their ships.
Beginning September 30, 2015, passengers will be allow 2 unopened bottles (maximum 750 ml) of wine or champagne per passenger. The maximum amount of beer that can be carried on board is 6 - 12 oz. bottles. These items must be carried on board by the passengers and consumed in the privacy of their own staterooms. Wine brought in by the passenger and consumed in the dining rooms will be subject to a corkage fee.
Alcohol will not be allowed to be carried in by passengers at their port-of-call. All alcohol must be carried onboard at the beginning of the cruise. Alcohol stored in suitcases will be in violation of the policy.
All alcohol that does not meet policy requirements will be confiscated until the end of the cruise.
Previously, all passengers over the legal age to drink were able to carry on unlimited amounts of alcohol for their personal consumption. This was permitted at the beginning of the cruise and at the ports-of-call.
Disney assures passengers that their prices for alcoholic drinks will be reasonably priced.
