Your trip out of the country leaves in a couple of days and you pull your passport out of the safety deposit box and you discover that it has or will expire within the 6 month requirement. Ouch, what do you do? You need a valid passport now!
Yes, it poses a problem. The good news is that it is not impossible not to get a passport in 24 hours.
How can you overcome this dilemma? You can go to one of 27 regional passport offices in the U.S., and they will be able to issue you one is a very short period of time.

What do you need to do? You need to call the National Passport Agency/Center at 1-877-487-2778 (the number is available 24/7) and schedule an appointment for the location that is closest to you.
What do you need to bring?
Proof of Immediate Travel, and Expedition Fee, expired/expiring passport, State issued Birth Certificate, new passport photos, and other documents may be required.
