It's interesting in this day and time of the internet when certain online sites indicate that a property is all-inclusive, but it is not in the true sense.

What is all-inclusive?  Just what the words say - all is included.  This means your room selection (type and location), dining, beverages (this includes alcoholic beverages and cocktails), most entertainment, and gratuities.  At certain resorts it can include WIFI, and non-motorized water sports.   It is important to realize that  all-inclusive resorts do often charge additional fees for different things.  For example:  Romantic dinner for 2 on the beach, excursions, spa treatments, transfers, etc.  Depending on what you elect to do, it can be all-inclusive and you don't need to pay a penny more, or you will end up spending more money eventually.

Some online sites are representing some hotels/resorts as all-inclusive because a meal plan can be added to the usual room rate/option selected.  However, the traveller is still responsible for gratuities and for the price of their alcoholic beverages, as well as other amenities.  Leaving a guest spending more than they budgeted for.

It is even more important that you book through a travel agent who can not only guide you to the right resort, but also help you find the right room, and more. They will be able to explain what all is included in the price and take out the confusion and potential disappointment you could potentially experience.  If something unforeseen should go wrong they have the partnerships and connections to best serve and support you as your advocate.  They will be able to work on your behalf to bring about a positive solution to the issue at hand. In most cases, you will not be paying a penny more because most can at least price match those prices you are finding on the internet.

Still want to do it on your own?  All the more reason to go directly to the resorts website and determine what is and what is not included.

Just keep in mind that that low price you found that is so attractive to you may come with a compromise it terms of support and service.  Call a professional who has your interests first and foremost in their hearts.
