Israel is scheduled to reopen its borders to visitors beginning May 23, 2021.
It was announced officially today by Israel Ministry of Tourism, that Israel will reopen its borders on May 23, 2021, to international travelers that have been fully vaccinated. Approximately 60 percent of Israel's population have been fully vaccinated making it possible for others who are vaccinated to visit.
There will be a series of phases and guidelines released next week that will go in hand with the reopening.
"The first phase will feature a pilot program that will allow select group tours to come to Israel, beginning May 23, 2021." Everything will be closely monitored and based on the success of the program, another phase will be introduced enabling individual travelers to be allowed. It is estimated that this could happen begiining sometime in July 2021.
"All phases will require that all travelers entering the country of Israel to undergo a PCR COVID test prior to boarding the plane for Israel, and a serological test to prove their vaccination at the Ben Guiron Airport". The requirement of the serological test is subject to change.
