Our Impression of the RIU Palace, Riviera Maya, Mexico

During a recent FAM trip - a trip for travel agents to become familiar with the products they are selling, we had the opportunity to visit this beautiful resort.
Our initial impression - Mexican traditional with elegance. A moderately priced all-inclusive resort that has a beautiful beach and pool area. Architecture offered beautiful Mexican elegance, and a beautiful courtyard that leads to the beach and pool area.
Pros: Beach area has a large tree covered area for those who want to enjoy the beach but do not want to sit in the hot sun all day. Of course, there is a large area that offers lots of sand and sun for those who are sun lovers. The large pool offered a swim-up bar and in the water pool loungers.
Cons: If you wish to dine in one of the specialty restaurants, you need a reservation. The reservation can only be made 48 hours in advance. So if you are there for just the weekend, you must settle for the buffet line or casual dining area.
