Which would you rather receive for your loyalty to a cruise line - a cocktail party or a coupon worth up to $9.00.
Carnival has elected to eliminate the Welcome Back Guest/Past Passenger Parties to Gold Tier Members of their VIFP Program (Very Important Fun Person).
Effective May 15, Gold members will receive drink vouchers valued at up to $9 instead. The vouchers will be good at any onboard bar on the last evening of each sailing that's five days or longer, and are in addition to the free bottles of water Gold members already receive as a membership perk. The vouchers can be redeemed for coffee, soda or alcoholic beverages.
Red Members will receive a complimentary beverage at Punchliner Comedy Brunch (or complimentary beverage at breakfast or lunch in Main Dining Room on certain ships), and all other perks associated with this tier.
Gold Members are those who have completed at least one sailing and have been awarded up to 24 points. Red Members are those who have 25 -74 points, Platinum have 75 - 199 points, Diamond have 200 +. Points are awarded based on the number of sailings taken and type of accommodations stayed in.
Platinum and Diamond Members will continue to receive party invites along with all other perks associated with their tier.
Is this something you will look forward to, or are you disappointed?
