The Allure of the Seas is among my most favorite ships sailing on the ocean to the Caribbean at the current time.  I had the opportunity to sail her twice this past year.  Doing both her Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.

What makes the Allure of the Seas spectacular and appealing to me?

The entertainment is top notch!

The Broadway production of "Mamma Mia" is what you would see if you at a theater in New York City or London, England, without paying extra. It is just adapted to the stage of the ship.  At the completion of each performance attendees give the performers a well deserved standing ovation.  It is a show that has you singing and dancing in your seat, and wanting to come back to see it again.

The Aqua Theater features a show spectacular that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat.   Synchronized swimmers, high divers that dive into a small but deep pool of water, acrobats and more keep you mesmerized throughout the performance.  The show was created by the people who created Cirque de Soliel's "Aux" at the Belagio in Las Vegas.

The Circle C featured professional ice skaters (much like you'd see at an Ice Capades or Ice Follies show).

The kids and the family get to watch their favorite Dreamworks characters come alive as they dance and stroll along the Royal Promenade.

For those with the spirit of adventure.  Try body boarding on the Surfrider, or learn how to surf.  No extra charge.

Perhaps zip lining across the ship with the Boardwalk neighborhood several decks below, or climbing a rock climbing wall that takes you to new heights is more your thing.

For those just looking for things to do as a family there is always minigolf.

You can be a kid again and take a ride on the carousel or have your picture taken with your favorite Dreamworks character.

We opted to book a Central Park Balcony.  Our cabin was adequate and we loved our balcony that offered views of the beautiful gardens below.

Food on board met or exceeded our expectations.  I would highly recommend the beef tenderloin when offered in the main dining.  Melt in your mouth tender and delicious.  The custom salads that are made for you fresh and before you with the ingredients you'll love is a nice touch for lunch at the Central Park Cafe.  Also available in the main dining room at lunch while at sea.  Even nicer yet!

This ship is one of the largest in the world hosting approximately 5,000 guests.  Never would you know it.  The check in process was quick and efficient.  There were seldom lines or crowds for any reason.  There are ample loungers by the pools and a choice of pools to sit by as well.  The kids would certainly enjoy their own water park where they can splash and play the day away.  All safe as lifeguards are positioned at each pool during the hours the pools are open.  Lifejackets are also available for the little ones to use.

In general I'd highly recommend this cruise to those looking for great entertainment and for those with the spirit of adventure.  A great travel opportunity as your ship becomes your spectacular resort on the ocean.
