BREAKING CRUISE NEWS

Norwegian Cruise Line and Princess Cruise Lines to sail from Houston, Texas in 2014.

It's not only going to be Carnival cruises.  There will be more choices on a seasonal basis.

Norwegian Cruise Lines has officially announced its return to Houston, Texas, for seasonal sailings from Houston, Texas, beginning the Fall 2014 sailing season.  These sailings will be 7-nights in duration, and will go to ports in the Western Caribbean.  Actual itineraries are to be announced.

Princess Cruises has confirmed with a reputable source that they too will begin sailing in November 2014 from Houston, Texas.  They have begun sailing from Galveston, Texas, on a seasonal basis this year, and are scheduled to return to Galveston for the 2013-14 winter season.

Houston is being considered as a departure port because of convenience.   it is home to two major airports.  Houston Bush International and Houston Hobby.  The Houston ports will be in closer proximity to the airports than Galveston.  Galveston currently requires a transfer from the airports of approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

Carnival Cruises will continue to offer 4-, 5- and 7-night cruise vacations year round from Galveston, Texas.  Royal Caribbean and Disney will continue to offer 7-night cruises on a seasonal basis from Galveston until further notice.
