The Good and Ugly In the Cruise World
The Good:
Things are looking up more and more as vaccines are becoming more readily available. COVID-19 numbers are slowly decreasing, and a select few cruise ships are beginning test sailings.
Avid cruisers are booking luxury and long duration cruises in anticipation of sailing again. They have saved their money up from cruises that they would have taken otherwise and are now taking their next cruise vacation to another level
There are some cruise lines in Europe and Asia that are currently sailing. Without American paying passengers of course. Other brands like Royal Caribbean have begun their test sailings from foreign ports. These sailings have been successful with few incidents involving Covid cases while at sea. Have to agree that there is room for improvement, but it is! Really, if you want to cruise later this year or in 2022. It's time to book!
River Cruises domestically and abroad are in high demand. Folks are longing for a small ship experience as they may be among the first to sail and because of their size will reduce the contact with large numbers of people. There are some wonderful deals to be had that include free airfare and more.
Travel to Europe is on the increase. It is our #1 selling destination for 2021 and 2022.

The Ugly:
Virgin cruises announced today that they are electing to suspend their sailings through to June 30, 2021. This brand new brand has not been able to sail because of Covid. They were initially scheduled to sail just as Covid hit in 2020 and have not been able to sail with paying passengers since.
Will other cruise lines follow? Usually when one does, the others will eventually follow. We just have to wait it out and await their official announcements. The day of the end to the cruise suspensions is drawing closer each and every day.
All people entering or returning to the U.S. must have a Covid-19 test taken up to 72 prior to entering the U.S. The test results must be negative. This can be an added expense that you may not wish to incur.
Not Good, but Not Ugly:
What is the latest on cruises scheduled for Alaska, that haven't been cancelled? Everything is status quo. However, Congress has stepped in to help. A significant step in the right direction!
Demand for travel is on the increase. Whether you are planning to travel domestically, internationally, by land or cruise.
Mexico is the #1 destination for all-inclusive resort vacations. Those families who could not go last year are booking for this year. Airfare prices are on the increase as demand increase and inventory begin greatly reduced. Have plans for a family getaway this summer? If you haven't booked as yet, call us. We have the deals and we'll serve as your advocate!
It's time to book if you want to cruise in 2022. Some itineraries and cabin choices are sold out. Cruises, at the rate that they are selling, are expected to be sold out for 2022 by Fall of 2021. It's time to book a cruise in 2023, which you know should travel once everything Covid related is under control.
Will things be as we remember them? Sorry, not quite, please expect changes.

Travel is as popular as ever. Even more so now as vaccine availability increases and Covid numbers decrease.
